Avgousta Stanitsa, PhD, is a qualified architect, working as an Associate Design Researcher within the Building Design Research & Innovation team in Atkins. She holds an MSc in Sustainable Environmental Design from AA School of Architecture in London. She has also completed her PhD studies in big data, risk and environmental analytical methods within Cranfield University, exploring how design of a space impacts human experiences and how novel approaches could be leveraged to inform decision-making processes in design. Her research interests include user experience, digital innovation and sustainable environmental design, leading a number of research initiatives and service offerings for clients on a wide range of projects and sectors, including education, landscape and masterplanning, with a focus to better understanding how the built environment shapes people’s experiences
