Aziz is adept at enabling the built environment to be accessible by all. Aziz is engaged in various community organizations including the Aga Khan Council for Edmonton, Canada Dubai Business Council, Edmonton Chamber of Commerce, and the Universal Design Network of Canada. Aziz is passionate about mentoring and was one of the few Architects conferred as a Fellow by the Royal Architecture Institute of Canada in 2018. Working alongside Occupational Therapists and conducting interviews with individuals from various cultures, and physical and/or mental health challenges has enlightened Aziz with innovative minimal-cost design solutions that can be initiated to make the built environment universally accessible within the seven principles of Universal Design. As a member of the Kasian Senior Living Environments Design Analysis Team, Aziz contributes to improving the design of senior living and long-term care communities across Canada.
