Ellen works in the Healthy Places Team in Public Health at East Sussex County Council. Her work is focused on ‘Planning for Health’ and broader healthy place shaping within the built and natural environment. As a Chartered Town Planner, with over 20 years working in both the private and public sectors, she helps to bridge the gap and foster a partnership approach between Planners and Public Health colleagues.

She has extensive experience of working on strategic planning issues across authority boundaries and influencing the planning system in a two-tier authority area. She currently is supporting getting health considerations into planning polices and decision making to positively affect the wider determinants of health and address health inequalities.
