Marcus is former associate professor and deputy director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Healthy Urban Environments at the University of the West of England, where he worked for some 20 years.

Marcus’s mission is to integrate the disparate scales of healthy urban places, linking work neighbourhoods and communities; with city policy; to regional planning, and national and international initiatives.
