Katelyn Wells

Having completed her BSc Business degree in 2023 at the University of Exeter, Katelyn is embarking in our graduate healthcare planning course. This is comprised of 8 units covering healthcare provision, planning the project, project briefing, designing healthcare buildings, stakeholder engagement, procurement of construction, equipment planning and project management. Katelyn is excited to have the opportunity to be working on live projects, alongside consultants while gaining practical and technical experience.
Katelyn has supported consultants on two projects including a private hospital in Dublin and “Future and Our Hospital Projects” in Jersey. She has supported the private hospital in Dublin by undertaking a critical review of the design against clinical functionality and design guidance, and identifying any deviations. She went on to develop a series of demand and capacity models for the relevant departments to indicate any gaps between anticipated demand and the proposed capacity clinical accommodation within the extension. On the Jersey Hospital Katelyn supported the lead health planner to develop the acute services strategy for all existing clinical departments. She supported the work to translate this into operational principles and the clinical design briefs for the acute, ambulatory and whole hospital design briefs.
